Food For Le$$ - Great Store in Middleburg Heights, Ohio

Published by diannc at 8:54 am under Uncategorized Edit This

I was going to link to their website, or at least to their yellowpages.com listing, but they don’t have either one! They are this great store in Middleburg Heights, Ohio on Pearl Road.  They are not the same as Food 4 Less and are not affiliated with Kroger (the owner of Food 4 Less).  Food for Les$$ is located across the street from Giant Eagle, next to the Goodwill.  What is so great about this store? They sell food that is past its sell by date, for a fraction of the regular cost, as well as odds and ends.  Here is what I got yesterday:

Pajamas, size 24 months - $.99

Water Bottle - $.29

Energy Drinks - 3/$1

6 pack Ciabatta buns - $.99

Big Bag (29 ounces) Tysons Frozen Chicken Nuggets - $2.49

Minute Made Soft Frozen Lemonade - 5/$1

They sell cereal for less then $2, day old bread for $1, salad dressing 2/$1, bags of chips 2/$1, and tons of other items for way below regular price.  Now, you do have to decide what is worth buying out of date.  They sell things like milk and orange juice that is out of date, I don’t trust that, but I will buy chips, cereal and canned goods.

Food for Le$$ takes food stamps, cash and Visa/Mastercard (they do require a photo ID to use any credit card).  The easiest way to get there is to get off 71 at Bagley Road and go East.  You will go for about a mile or so until you see the Walgreens (always my landmark!) and then take a left, that is Pearl.  You will go down for a little while, maybe a little less then a mile, and it will be on your left hand side.
